A. Course Summary:

This area of study will provide knowledge on normal development of new born and young children. Students will appreciate the role of the physiotherapist in the management of  disabled children.

B. Learning Outcome of the Module:

Explain the motor development in the normal child and the etiology, pathology, clinical features, physiotherapy assessment and treatment of the various paediatric neurological disorders.

Explain the etiology, pathology, clinical features, physiotherapy assessment and treatment of the various  paediatric related congenital bony deformities and orthopeadic disorders.  

Explain the infants cardiorespiratory system and the etiology, pathology, clinical features, physiotherapy assessment and treament of the various paediatric related cardiorespiratory conditions and congenital heart disorders.
